Dr U Rajani Rao is a traveller by choice. She has had her formal education at various places in Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala. She is a gold medalist in MA Philosophy and got her doctorate on ‘Environmental Philosophy from the Indian Perspective’, both from the University of Mysore, Mysuru, Karnataka.
She has been associated with tribal and village schools, helping students with their educational needs through an NGO, ‘Prakruthi Foundation’ since 2008. She has actively lead all women, children and other groups at Honnemaradu camp, and conducted out bound programmes and training for other NGO’s. She is also a photographer with keen eye on natural elements.
Passionate about travel – apart from outland bike/jeep expeditions – she has journeyed extensively within India and abroad. Through her journeys, she has understood the importance of being connected to Nature. Working with like-minded folks, she has interacted with people on social responsibility towards environmental issues.
Residing in Bengaluru, she is currently, working to deliver the contents of this three-book series to a larger audience; mainly to young, progressive women, through colleges, universities and libraries about eco travel and its modern relevance. The focus is on promoting awareness about the concept of travel, its usefulness in this present world and globe trotting as a skill for women from all walks of life.
